- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Coogirl Candy Glaze
- 3 tablespoons Coogirl Candy syrup
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
Coogirl Candy Mayo
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Coogirl Candy syrup
- 2 teaspoons lime juice
- Pinch of kosher salt
To Assemble
- 10 to 12 slider buns or small dinner rolls, split and lightly toasted
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 roma tomato, thinly sliced
- Pickle slices, optional
Instructions
-
Make the turkey mixture
- In a large bowl combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, minced onion, egg, chopped Coogirl Candy jalapeños, 1 tablespoon Coogirl Candy syrup, Dijon mustard, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Mix gently with a fork or your hands until everything is evenly combined. Do not overwork the meat or the sliders may become dense.
-
Shape the patties
- Divide the mixture into 10 to 12 equal portions.
- Shape each portion into a small patty about 2 1/2 inches wide. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help them cook evenly.
- Place patties on a plate or tray and refrigerate while you prepare the glaze and mayo.
-
Prepare the Coogirl Candy glaze
- In a small bowl whisk together 3 tablespoons Coogirl Candy syrup, apple cider vinegar, and soy sauce until smooth.
- Set aside for brushing on the patties as they finish cooking.
-
Make the Coogirl Candy mayo
- In another small bowl stir together mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon Coogirl Candy syrup, lime juice, and a pinch of salt.
- Mix until creamy and well combined. Refrigerate until ready to assemble the sliders.
-
Cook the turkey patties
- Heat a large nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium heat and lightly oil the surface.
- Place patties in the pan without crowding. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on the first side until browned.
- Flip patties and cook another 3 to 4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- During the last minute of cooking, brush each patty with the Coogirl Candy glaze, flip once more, and brush the second side. Let the glaze bubble and cling to the patties, then remove them from the pan.
-
Toast the buns
- While the patties cook, lightly toast slider buns in a dry skillet or under the broiler until the cut sides are just golden.
-
Assemble the sliders
- Spread the cut sides of each toasted bun with a thin layer of Coogirl Candy mayo.
- Place a small handful of shredded lettuce on the bottom half of each bun.
- Top with a glazed turkey patty, a slice of tomato, and pickles if using.
- Cover with the top bun and press gently.
-
Serve
- Arrange the sliders on a platter.
- Serve warm with the jar of Coogirl Candy at the table so everyone can add extra candied jalapeños or syrup if they like more heat and sweetness.
Tips
- If the turkey mixture feels too wet, add another tablespoon of breadcrumbs. If it feels dry, mix in a tablespoon of milk.
- These patties can also be cooked on an outdoor grill over medium heat. Grill 3 to 4 minutes per side and glaze during the last minute of cooking.
- Leftover patties are great crumbled over salads with a drizzle of Coogirl Candy for a quick lunch.
